Comedy on Nazi Germany ‘Iron Sky’ Creates Buzz At Berlin Film Fest

Berlin Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals on the globe. Filmmakers from different countries dream to get their movies featured at the fest. This year ‘Iron Sky’, a Finnish sci-fi comedy about Nazis invading Earth, has generated huge interest among the critics and cine goers.

The story depicts a group Nazis escape to moon after the Second World War.  During 70 years of utter secrecy, the Nazis construct a gigantic space fortress and hope to launch a counter attack on Americans someday.

‘Iron Sky’ has characters with striking resemblance with real life politicos. The movie features a fictional US president who looks very much like the Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The movie is set future 2018 to be precise, when a Nazis comes face to face with a group of American Astronauts.

German actor Udo Kier is the best-known face of the ‘Iron Sky’ team. The film is funded mostly through online donations from cine goers and fans.

‘Iron Sky’ will be released in theaters in April 2012. India release is expected to follow soon after the opening in Europe. The primary language of the film is English.
