Movie Review: ‘Vicky Donor’ (Five Star *****)

John Abraham has hit the bulls eye with his maiden production ‘Vicky Donor’. He and his director Shoojit Sircar has given a movie which every cine goer would love to watch.

‘Vicky Donor’ is based on a unique concept of sperm donation and infertility. The movie is based on typical middle income Delhi family with a jobless ‘happy go lucky’ son Vicky (Ayushmann Khurrana) as the main character. Vicky finds employment in sperm donation and his employer is Dr Chadhha (Annu Kapoor), who runs a infertility clinic in Daryganj. He claims that he is too good in the art of identifying ‘high quality seeds’ and is not afraid to say ‘Shakal Dekh ke Bande Ka Sperm Pehchaan Jaata Hun’.

Director Shoojit Sircar has brilliantly narrated the story and each and every scene in the movie is a laugh riot. Scenes in which Dr. Chaddha convinces Vicky to donate his sperm to end the modern disease of infertility are hilarious.

Story takes a turn when Vicky falls in love with Ashima Roy (Yaami Gautam). This twist helps Vicky in transforming his image from a sperm donor to a lover. Music of the movie adds zing to it. Songs Rum Whiskey, Pani Da Rang, Mar Jaiyian are peppy numbers and it adds colour to the movie.

Ayushman Khurrana, Yami Gautam and Annu Kapoor steal the show with their brilliant performances. In short ‘Vicky Donor’ worth every single penny you spend to buy the ticket.
