After all, we live in a society where we must act according to some set pattern. Watch this movie, whether or not you had a break-up, and you will save a lot of sleepless nights if you actually have one in future.

2. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is not only an ensemble of great stars—it is THE movie about friendship, love, failures and heartbreak. Watch out for some impeccable performances by Abhay Deol, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar. If you have ever fallen in love, and fallen out of it, you must watch this one for an ultimate experience.

3. Dev.D

If you are trying to move on from the worst break-up ever…you must meet Dev from Dev.D. Dev is man trying to move on from his past girlfriend Paro. He is trying hard to figure out his life and inevitably spirals into a world of alcohol and drugs, and lots of misadventures.  Watch it, but we suggest, keep that beer can away.  

4. Queen

This must top the list of all break-up flicks out there. Starring Kangana Ranaut as Rani, the movie dwells on a heart-broken woman seeking love and freedom in a foreign land. That’s not all. There’s lot of adventure, encounters with new people and loads of laughter to make you feel better. Interestingly, you will also see how she stumbles upon love. After all, a ‘sad emoji’ owing to a breakup doesn’t always have to be your life’s ‘display pic’, right.  

5. Cocktail

Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail is a romantic comedy, revolving around three key lead characters. Love stories are not simple, and they could get all the more complicated if there are three not two people involved. Things aren’t that sorted even for these three—as love triangle blooms and complicates matter further.

6. Love Aaj Kal

This Imtiaz Ali directed movie traces the love story of Jai Vardhan Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and Meera Pandit (Deepika Padukone). Long distance relationships can be hard at times and who knows it better than the ones making overseas calls and doing the ‘WhatsApp love’, right? Watch this flick to know how the two figure out the difficulties of going the far way. Maybe you could get some brownie points from their experience.

7. Dear Zindagi

If you are a girl overcoming a break-up, do watch Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi. This film is not only about love, friendship and break-up, it is also about learning a few lesson’s life. Simply put, after watching this movie you would realise how ‘dear’ zindagi truly is to fret over a break-up.

8. Jab We Met

Imtiaz Ali sure knows how to strike a chord with the young minds undergoing an inconsolable breakup. In Jab We Met, a rich yet heart-broken Aditya, played by Shahid Kapoor, finds love again in a bubbly and vivacious girl named Geet, portrayed by Kareena. This movie enlightens us about how love is abundant, and it only takes a few lucky encounters and faith to find true love again.

9. Tanu Weds Manu Returns

Tanu Weds Manu Returns is all about rediscovering true love. Directed by Anand L Rai, the movie takes up from its first part and shows the lead protagonists seeking a divorce. What follows is a series of new romantic encounters, heartbreaks and some good deal of patch up. A must watch.

10. Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2

While talking about bad break-ups, it is equally important to remember that toxic relationships can be just as bad.  Pyaar Ka Punchnama showcases three guys Anshul, Siddharth and Tarun undergoing similar experiences. They fall in love, make mistakes and mess up. But what matters the most is how they learn from each experience. Again, a must-watch for all the lost ones in love.
