Lady Gaga has been crowned the biggest-earning female artist of the year. According to Forbes.com, the ‘Marry the Night’ singer’s earning was more than double of any other female pop stars over the past 12 months, raking in an impressive 90 million dollars in 2011, the Daily Telegraph reported.
Country singer Taylor Swift came in second with 45 million dollars with Katy Perry closely behind her with 44 million dollars. Beyonce Knowles and Rihanna rounded off the top five, earning 35 million dollars and 29 million dollars respectively.
Gaga’s remarkable earnings were mainly due to her ‘Monster Ball’ tour, which grossed 1.3 million dollars a night as well as many endorsement deals, which included the likes of Polaroid, Virgin Mobile, Monster Cable and PlentyOfFish.com.
The earnings estimates were arrived with the help of data from Pollstar, RIAA and others, as well as extensive interviews with industry insiders including lawyers, managers, concert promoters, agents and, in some cases, the musicians themselves. The totals encompass all pre-tax income earned from May 2010 to May 2011, before subtracting agent and manager fees.

What Bollywood’s top notch actress Priyanka Chopra has been trying to achieve for many years, her cousin sister Parineeti Chopra has managed to do with her debut film. Parineeti Chopra’s starts her career as an actor in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, and has already signed on a second film, Ishqzaade, with the banner.
“PC has wanted to work with YRF for a long time. But after Pyaar Impossible’s debacle, she hasn’t received any offers from them. While Rani, Katrina and Anushka have already made their mark, Priyanka hasn’t been as lucky. She has been sending feelers to the Chopras but to no avail,” says a source.
Parineeti, who features in Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl, was the latest YRF discovery. Initially, the industry was abuzz with speculation that Anushka would star opposite Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun in Habib Faisal’s next. But now we hear that Parineeti has been considered for the role.
A source close to YRF camp said, “YRF decided that Parineeti was apt for the role. Habib Faisal was also very keen to work with Parineeti. Ditto for Aditya Chopra, who always takes most of the final decisions in YRF.”
Before she was signed up for Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, Parineeti used to work in the marketing section of YRF Films. However, Aditya Chopra felt she was actress material. “Parineeti is doing an excellent job in Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. She has good acting abilities.
There is good news for Mallika Sherawat’s fans! The sexy siren has finally decided to get over her Hollywood obsession and move back to B-town.According to sources she wants to give her career in Bollywood another chance with Sanjay Khanduri`s `Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli ` (KLPD) which she signed recently. The film was earlier called `Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro` but now the name has been changed to a funnier one, if you go by the acronym! We at ‘Filmi Files’ hope that the Censor Board doesn’t take serious objection to it.
A friend close to the actress revealed that despite offers from big production houses, Mallika has chosen to mark her return to Bollywood with KLPD.
The friend of the actress informed a daily, “Mallika was offered a project by Vishesh Films. She had worked with the production house in Murder, the film that made Mallika a star. Also, YRF Films offered her a role in their next project. This too did not excite Mallika since the role was too small.”
In the beginning of the year, it was reported that Mallika would replace Bipasha Basu in the sequel to `Jism`. As per media reports, Bipasha was approached for the role in KLPD that Mallika has now taken over.
“Mallika wanted to make a comeback as a leading lady. She is coming to next week. Her film with Vivek goes on floors on December15,” said her friend.
When contacted by a tabloid, producer of KLPD, Amit Chandrra confirmed Mallika`s presence in the film and added, “We called her and pitched the film. After the initial approval, we discussed the script with her via video calls. We are happy to have her on board.”
