1-Don’t display revealing Hate Story posters: Calcutta HC
The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday directed the distributors of Hate Story, a Hindi film to be released soon, not to display revealing posters promoting the film.
Refusing to stay a West Bengal Government order directing the distributors not to display the posters showing actress Paoli Dam in sensuous positions, Justice Dipankar Dutta directed that the distributors and the state to file affidavits in support of their contentions.
2-Housefull 2 still going strong at the box office
It was yet another weekend when the previous week’s releases continued to dominate over the newer films. Bittoo Boss and Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein didn’t find any takers, say trade experts, adding that Housefull 2 and Titanic 3D held strong in the second weekend too.
A Mumbai-based exhibitor says that the numbers of Bittoo Boss were dismal. On condition of anonymity, he said, “Comparatively, the English film Battleship, which also released on the Friday gone by, has registered better numbers than Bittoo Boss.”
A Delhi-based distributor added, “There’s nothing in the film. And even though he registered his presence in TV shows, Pulkit Samrat can’t bring in the audience. As for Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein, chhodo, jaane do.”
3-Ajay and Anil to race in the F1 track in Delhi
Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn will have a supercar race on the F1 track in Delhi with Silver and yellow Lamborghini. The race is scheduled on Monday, April 23.
During a casual conversation on a dinner Anil and Ajay started exchanging notes on their need for speed. That is when Ajay, who is into sports car challenged Anil for a race. Surprised Kapoor took it sportingly and decided to test their skills on the F1 track in Delhi.
4-No ‘Heroine’ at Cannes Festival: Madhur Bhandarkar
Madhur Bhandarkar has put a full stop to speculation that he is set to launch the first look of his ambitious project, Kareena Kapoor-starrer Heroine at the upcoming 65th Cannes International Film Festival.
“Media reporting that 1st look of Heroine is going to be launched in Cannes are baseless,” tweeted Bhandarkar Tuesday. “Me, Kareena and the whole team are busy shooting Heroine through the whole month of April and May, so no question of visiting Cannes,” he further added.
The annual film extravaganza is to be held May 16-27.
5-Zanjeer Remake is a compliment: Amitabh Bachchan
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who starred in the 1973 blockbuster Zanjeer, says he has no opinion on the remake of the film and rather takes it as a compliment that the movie is getting made again. The new Zanjeer is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia of Shootout At Lokhandwala fame and starring Ram Charan, son of South superstar Chiranjeevi.
