Series And Movies To Watch In August On OTT Platforms

As we have perforated into the 8th month of the year, the OTT platforms are all set with binge-watch series and movies for you. With the movies theatres functioning at half capacity, OTT platforms have taken the plunge of entertaining people. In July, we saw blockbusters hits like MiMi, Malik, SarpataParambarai, etc. Now, you should be aware of the jam-packed movies and series from OTTs.


1. Dial 100:

Dial 100 is a film that starts with a cryptic call to the police’s control room with the woman on the call. The girl says that she is attempting to hurt someone with a gun. This film is streamed on Zee5 from 6th August. The filmmakers have also divulged Dial 100 in words like one night one call, which can change our lives.

2. Navarasa:

This is an anthology series by Mani Rantan embracing nine 30-minute stories about nine emotions. The star cast of the series is Revathy, Suriya, Parvathy, Aditi Balan, Vijay Sethupathy, Arvind Swamy, Siddarth, and Yogi Babu. Navarasa is streaming on Netflix from August 6.

3. Bhuj- The Pride of India:

This film is based on the 1971 India-Pakistan war. It will narrate the story of 300 women from a town in Gujarat and how they succored the Indian Air Force in recreating an airbase. This airbase was eradicated in the PAF ground strikes. Film’s star cast is Ajay Devgan as Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Sharad Kellar, and Nora Fatehi. It will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from August 13.

4. 200- Halla Ho:

Veteran actor, director, producer Amol Palekar is making a comeback with his film. Actors like Barun Sobti, Rinku Rajguru, and Sahil Khattar will be seen in this film. It is based on true events, 200-Halla Ho is a story of 200 Dalit women who take law and order into their hands. They plan to lynch a cold-blooded and ruthless gangster to a requite the atrocities he imposed on them for 15 long years. The movie will stream on Zee5 and the release date is yet to be announced.

5. Shershaah:

Shershaah is a Hindi-language biographical war film on the life of army captain Vikram Batra. It is a true story of a PVC awardee Indian soldier whose endowment helped to win the Kargil War of 1999. Shershaah is directed by Vishnuvardhan and co-produced by Karan Johar. Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani are the lead characters. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video from 12th August. 

6. Netrikann:

Now, here comes the most exciting release in August. Netrikann is yet another psychological thriller from Nayanthara. Showcasing her as a blind woman, it is the remake of the 2011 Korean film “Blind”. In this film, Ajmal Ameer plays a serial killer. He is on a bit of a streak till Nayanthara crosses his way. Nayanthara is exceptional in female-centric Tamil thrillers. It will release on Disney+ Hotstar on 13th August.


7. Maestro:

After the blockbuster performance of Hindi dark-comedy Andhadhun, filmmakers are offering something fresh to the viewers. Starring Nithiin in the lead, it narrates the story of a blind man who is caught between a murder investigation and attempting to make his way out of it. The film will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from 15th August.

8- The Legend of Hanuman-2

Hotstar Specials certified the return of The Legend of Hanuman to Disney+ Hotstar. It will yet another be exciting saga in the life of Lord Hanuman. Jeevan J. Kang and Navin have directed the second season of the show. And, Sharad Kelkar will return as the narrator of the show. It is streamed on Disney+ Hotstar from 6th August.

9. Crime and Confessions:

Released on 7th August, Crime, and Confessions is a new saga of crime, deceit, betrayal, back-stabbing, erotica, and suspense. It is a thriller series on ALT Balaji original. The series feature Samikssha Bhatnagar, Ankit Bathla, Lekha Prajapati, and Akshay Dogra in pivotal roles.

10. Shantit Kranti:

It is the story of 3 BFFs who are attempting to find a balance between their friendship and the harsh realities of life that is full of responsibilities and summons. Directed by Sarang Sathaye and Paula McGlynn. The star cast of Shantit Kranti is Alok Rajwade, Abhay Mahajan, Lalit Prabhakar, Shikha Talsania, Vijay Nikamin lead roles.
