Targeting India’s expanding streaming market Netflix Unveils 2025 India Content Slate on Monday in Mumbai.
Netflix latest India lineup comprises of a plethora of genres across 6 feature films, 14 series and 5 unscripted titles.Netflix’s stage for the year is all set with fresh narratives, some returning series, and new collaborations bringing to the audiences a mix of high-octane thrillers, offbeat comedies, and intense dramas.
Present on the occasion Shahrukh Khan launched the headline of the lineup – Aryan Khan’s directorial series ‘The Bads of Bollywood.Produced by Gauri Khan and Red chilies Entertainment, the series promises self-aware humour with thrills, adventurous rides and a host of cameos, while an outsider with his friends navigates the larger than life world of bollywood.
Shahrukh said, “It is my prayer that even if my children get 50 per cent of the love that I have received, then it will be a lot for them.”
Another highlight of the evening was Siddharth Anand’s debut into the digital space with Jewel Thief, featuring Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat in lead roles. The series follows a meticulously planned jewel thief task that spirals into a gripping whirlwind of unforeseen alliances, deceptions and betrayals.
Rana Naidu gears up for its much-anticipated second season with Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati, reprising their roles in this gritty family drama wherein the ghost from the past Arjun Rampal returns to shake things up for them.
While Rajkummar Rao’s Toaster, a dark comedy about a miser who gifts a toaster at a wedding and finds himself entangled in a murder mystery. The film promises an eccentric ride with Sanya Malhotra, Abhishek Banerjee, and Upendra Limaye.
Delhi Crime makes a comeback for a third season, with Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, and Rajesh Tailang reprising their roles investigating on a dangerous trafficking ring, with Huma Qureshi and Sayani Gupta and an ensemble cast.While, the young and promising duo of Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan took center to launch the first song, ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ from the film ‘Naadaniyaan’ at the event
Monika Shergill, Netflix’s VP of content in India said, ” Our 2025 slate promises a rich and varied lineup, from gripping dramas and thrilling heists to heartwarming rom-coms and adrenaline-pumping action,”
Shergill highlighted on key projects like Aryan Khan’s grand Bollywood-themed series, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ (The Bads of Bollywood), and Siddharth Anand’s high-stakes drama, ‘Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins’, which bring scale and excitement to the slate.
Shergill also highlighted on this years strong rom-com offerings saying,” ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’, ‘The Royals’ , and ‘Nadaaniyan’ infuse timeless romantic themes with a contemporary twist, while ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ brings comedy into the mix, offering a delightful escape. Proven series like ‘Khakee’, ‘Rana Naidu’, ‘Kohrra’ and ‘Delhi Crime’, all return bigger with gripping new storyline for 2025.The lineup also includes live broadcasts of WWE with Hindi commentary.”
Netflix is also investing this year in crime and action genres which has given it some of its biggest successes. Shergill further added,” Mandala Murders’ weaves mystical undertones into a gripping mystery, while ‘Dabba Cartel’ is an intense thriller that reimagines power and agency from a whole new perspective. ‘Glory’ immerses as a family’s fierce pursuit of an Olympic medal, where emotional tension and ambition drive the drama.”
