Ek Badnaam Ashram Season 3 Part 2 is all set to roll with a new twist on 27th February, as announced at the grand trailer launch held in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Bobby Deol, aka Baba Nirala, arrived in a vintage car at the launch. Present on the occasion were veteran Producer Director and Writer Prakash Jha, alongside actors Aditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Darshan Kumaar, playing pivotal roles in the plot.
The trailer seems to be intriguing as Baba Nirala( Bobby Deol) faces new challenges from Pammi ( Aditi Pohankar), who’s all set to take revenge for everything done to her and her family. The trailer is quite gripping as it shows tensions escalating in Baba Nirala’s empire amongst his closest peers as Pammi arrives, this time fearless Bhasmasura to set Baba’s empire on fire and turn the tables. While, Bhupa Swami’s thirst for power flares tension between him and Baba Nirala. Part 2 of Ashram 3 continues the story from where it ended, setting the stage for action-packed sequences, mind games, and betrayals, unfolding the dark world of the Ashram and its truths.
Prakash Jha, keeping the secret of the plot this season, when asked what this season has in store, says,” Pooch ke bataun, pata chal jayega to batayenge! ( I’ll ask, if I get to know something, I’ll tell!).He adds further giving a glimpse of the characters, says ” In kisi ke paas character hai hi nahi. Ye Baba har roz apna jalwa badalta hai aur kahani bhi badalti rehti hai aur Bhupa aur Pammi apne hi khel khel rahi hai, aur Ujagar pareshan se uded bun main lage hain, Isbar bahut se sawalon ke jawab milenge.( None of them has a character in this series. This Baba keeps changing, and so does the story while Bhupa and Pammi are playing their games while Ujagar is stuck in their web. This season will raise many questions and give many answers too.)
Jha threw light on season 3, bringing with it the collaboration of Amazon Prime and MX player, making the streaming free for the audiences. He said,” Although this amalgamation took time, it will give a lot of strength to the series to go ahead in future.”
What made him cast Bobby Deol as Baba Nirala? Jha replied, ” Well, it was only me who could see Baba in him and no one else. If you look at Bobby, he is a very simple man without any complications, a man with a good heart, and so if his heart gets dark, what would be the fun, that came into my mind? I wanted to cast a real-life hero and wanted to explore the darkness inside him. Also, we wanted to work together for many years and I called him for the role.”
Bobby Deol, who plays the antagonist Baba Nirala, shares about his character, “Baba Nirala thinks that he’s invincible and his power is unmatched, but he is fickle minded. This season, he is most vulnerable, and that’s what makes him even more dangerous. He makes some decisions that add layers to his character, which makes the plot more gripping. It’s an emotionally intense, action-packed ride, and I can’t wait for audiences to experience it.”
Deol shared his emotional connection with the role, saying, “In fact, for many years, I wanted to work with Prakash ji and wanted a suitable role to change my image. One day I received a call from his office regarding this series. I was very nervous as the actors are scared of rejection, but he met very warmly and narrated the story. Initially, I thought he wanted me to play the cop, and since I had long hair, I would have to chop them small. But he told me that he wanted to cast me as the Baba. I never thought that he wanted to cast me for the lead role and that too of an antagonist. I could not believe my ears, as it was what I was dreaming of or was that a reality?”
Bobby shared further on preparing for the role,” I told Prakashji that I have never done such a role and how will I be able to do it. He told me to believe in myself, the Baba, and when I spoke, the people would listen to me. He told me not to watch any of the Baba’s videos and just believe in my character and be the Baba in front of the camera. I’m glad that my wife was extremely supportive of taking up this role and told me to do what I wanted to do. I worked on my diction for the role and learnt every line from my language trainer. I met all my co-stars on the set and we created a great bond as we shot. Later my parents and Bhai also appreciated my work, while they also started receiving calls as people started appreciating my role.”
The new season certainly peels more layers of Baba Nirala’s dark persona bringing a critical turning point to shake the foundations of his dark empire, where the rules of the game are all set to be rewritten!
