Murder Mubarak is a quirky murder mystery coming soon on Netflix that combines a mix of suspense, comedy and thrill, creating a unique entertainment narrative.
The trailer launch event itself was an experiential themed club-house party for those who attended it, which began with a game of tambola unveiling its first character Pankaj Tripathi who plays an ACP Bhawani Singh, with early Five. With every number came a new character unveiling Tisca Chopra, who appeared in a glitzy deep red saree and plays a posh mom, trying to save her son. Karishma Kapoor plays a glamourous diva Shehnaz Noorani,
Sara Ali Khan plays a paranoid privileged young woman.The plot includes a bunch of eccentric characters enacted by Dimple Kapadia who plays cookie katoch, Sanjay Kapoor plays Rajaji and Vijay Verma playing a lover.
Ruchika Kapoor Sheikh Director original films Netflix India said,” At Netflix, we believe that we should have something for everyone with a bit of suspense, thrill, comedy and excitement and Murder Mubarak promises all that. Murder Mubarak ho aap sab ko aur hum sab ko on March 15th. Expect the unexpected in this roller coaster ride, where everyone is suspected of murder, while they say I’m not guilty.”
Director Homi Adajania talks about the cast and the characters, ” It’s a multi-generational cast, from Karishma, Sara, Sanjay, Tisca and Pankaj for whom I made this film. They are all very unique actors, and have enacted these characters so truthfully as wracky as they are, who are very different and unique from each other.”
Dinesh Vijan, Producer Maddox Films tells about teaming up with Homi yet again,” Well this is my 6th project with Homi that we dived into, to create a uniquely entertaining narrative and this film happened.”
Tisca Chopra tells about working with Homi says,” When Homi approached me with the script, it was the quirkiest and most entertaining murder mysteries, I had ever read bringing to life such eclectic characters. Homi has made this film, which is easy, and breezy, giving us the freedom to improvise. My Character Roshni Batra does such bizarre things. I have never done such a comedy at this level and for me it was very joyous, having done many serious roles like tujhe sab hai pata na meri ma, this is a different role.”
Sara Ali Khan who wore a leopard print pants and coat set, tells about her character and how she can relate to it,” Both I and my character Bambi Todi are born in the world of privilege, which she is oblivious of it,but I recognise it, but I’m more sensitive than she is, she being more stylish and glamorous than I am in real life.”
Karishma Kapoor threw light on what drew her to do the film saying,” Homi and I have studied and grown up together. when I was told the script, I just wanted to be a part of this fantastically unusual quirky film, and you will get to see a very different me in this role, with lots to expect and hope you enjoy it.”
Having played many roles for Netflix Pankaj Tripathi shares how has been his journey so far on OTTs, “OTT has increased the scope of acting for every actor who have many stories from different genres to choose from. There’s a good synergy between the actors and the OTT platforms creating opportunities to binge watch and I can say that this film is going to be the most liked film of this year.”
Ruchika further adds,” The film has a right balance of suspense with a lot of humour based on a posh Delhi club where we see all these characters. As the trailer says ‘Angrez chale gaye inhe chor gaye’ we have this cop played by Pankaj Tripathi saying ‘main Kahan hoon’ which makes him so rooted, while sometimes you laugh at him and other times with him.”
