NEW DELHI: Actress Anushka Sharma has made a heartfelt appeal to the people of the country to offer aid to the bereaved families of the CRPF personnel who lost their lives when Maoists ambushed them in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district earlier this week.
“Our brave jawans in the CRPF martyred their lives for the sake of the nation in the recent Sukma attack. It’s my heartfelt appeal to everyone that if you want to truly pay your tribute to our fallen braves, then visit the Indian government’s website bharatkeveer.gov.in and make your contribution to show their families that India stands with them in solidarity in this moment of grief,” the Sultan actor said in an audio message.
The website, www.bharatkeveer.gov.in , was launched on April 9 this year, and actor Akshay Kumar has played an instrumental role in its conception.Home minister Rajnath Singh had inaugurated the new government website along with the actor. The site allows common people to make monetary donations to families of paramilitary troops killed in action, with an upper limit of Rs 15 lakh to a single family.
