Actress Kareena on Wednesday said her grandfather Raj Kapoor and father Randhir Kapoor inspired her to be in the showbiz; and that the grandfather was biased towards elder sister Karisma.
Kareena on Wednesday unveiled Raj Kapoor’s brass statue at UTV Stars-promoted `Walk of the Stars’ in Mumbai. “I am very proud to be born in Kapoor family. My grandfather and father inspired me to be here. I am what all because of them,” Kareena told reporters here.
“But I must say that my grandfather was biased towards Karisma. As she (Karisma) had blue eyes like my grandfather and I had green eyes like my father. Also, I remember during summer season he (Raj Kapoor) used to give two mangoes to Karisma and I used to get one!” she said.
Kareena posed for shutterbugs sitting on the lap of his grandfather’s statue. “He is the only man Saif would allow me to sit on the lap,” Kareena said.
Brass statue of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor sitting on a bench were installed today at the Bandra Bandstand promenade. Kareena also unveiled signature prints of Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Sunil Dutt and Nargis, which too would be installed at the promenade.
