Her acting is serious and her role-selection is uncanny. Starting from the Telugu and Tamil Film Industry, she has made her place in Bollywood in the past half a decade.
This 32-year-old actress has shown consistency in her work graph and has given back to back hit performances since Baby, where she starred opposite Akshay Kumar.
Taapsee Pannu is a veterinary actress since she has won 6 National Awards for her performances in Telugu and Tamil films. However, her claim to fame in Bollywood came only with her first Hindi release- Baby (2015). She starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan in her next movie, Pink (2016). Known for her feminist roles, the actress went on to star in a war movie- The Ghazi Attack (2017), and also served the audience with a side dish of comedy the same year.
In her comedy film, Judwaa 2, Taapsee is starring opposite Varun Dhawan and the movie was not so hit in the box office but it had all the ingredients of a masala movie.
In 2018, Pannu was seen in the form of a lawyer in a courtroom drama, in the movie Mulk, where she worked with stars like Rishi Kapoor. The movie was one of the best movies of 2018. She released another hit the same year when she came out with Soorma, acting opposite Diljit Dosanjh.
When she came out with Badla in 2019, a murder mystery also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu had succeeded in making her place in the hearts of the audience and with the big guns of Bollywood.
Her performance in Pink was the best of 2016 and will be remembered amongst the best for decades. Perhaps only Taapsee can supersede her record breaking performances and movie-selections, because no other actress can.
She was, most recently seen in Mission Mangal. The audience loved her role in the movie with a power-packed star cast. However , Taapsee was seen talking about a darker time in her career.
When she moved from Delhi to Hyderabad to pursue acting in 2009, Taapsee faced a major challenge. In the interview, she is seen telling the audience that she was considered bad luck.
Her films failed to produce results at the box office. As a result, many directors wrote her off as ‘bad luck’. Nevertheless, tables have turned now. We know Taapsee to be the queen of what she does! And we know that she makes her own luck!
