Janhvi Kapoor First Look in & as Gunjan Saxena Dropped

Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming movie poster released today. She is all set to play the role of Kargil Girl in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.

Gunjan Saxena became famous as The Kargil Girl during Kargil war between India and Pakistan in 1999.

She has an Army background and while completing her graduation from Hansraj College, she also joined Safdarjung Flying Club, Delhi.

In those days, women were hardly employed especially in aviation sector for the Indian Air Force but India needed all the pilots during the war and Gunjan Saxena represented herself as an IAF officer and began evacuating injured and martyred soldiers while facing heavy firings from the Pakistan side.

For this bravery, she became the first woman to receive the Shaurya Chakra Award.

She served Indian military for 7 years and her tenure as a Chopper pilot ended in July 2007. At present, she is a homemaker living in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Her biopic starring Janhvi Kapoor was announced in 2018. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi as Gunjan’s father and brother respectively. This movie is produced by Karan Johar and is set to release on 13 March 2020.
