The Amazonian Princess Diana Prince is back in action in the new trailer of Wonder Woman 1984. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman has done a fantastic job in the first part of WW franchise. The Israeli actress is looking nothing but a powerful Goddess in the 90 seconds trailer.
WW also stars Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright & Connie Nielsen. The film’s trailer is a treat for every cinema lover, it is perfectly in sync with its ‘80s theme and the music couldn’t be better.
The trailer shows that Diana has finally reunited with Steve Trevor aka Chris Pine who was presumably dead in the climax of the first film. However, the question here is how come he hasn’t aged at all even after 60 years assuming he was alive after all?
The most apt explanation would be Maxwell Lord played by Pedro Pascal, one of the two villains who uses mind control as last seen in the comics. He would persuade Diana to give in to her desire to see Steve again in exchange of something bad. The trailer hinted on the possibility of this scenario. The director, Patty Jenkins also said, “He’s selling a dream to the public. He’ll do anything to be successful, but sometimes when you get what you want, greatness comes with a price.”
The second villain “Cheetah” is played by Kristen Wiig who is one of Wonder Woman’s most notorious comic book foes, archaeologist Barbara Minerva, a.k.a. the human-cat hybrid Cheetah. She starts as a close friend of Diana’s, but in time, the two pals grow apart and ultimately face off against each other.
Diana became Wonder Woman during World War 1, after that she almost had nothing left. Gal Gadot mentioned that in this film “Diana is lonely, She lost all of her friends over the years, and she’s doing what she needs to do. She’s doing her calling. She’s helping mankind and saving them — until something crazy is about to happen to her.”
During the ending of the trailer, Diana is seen wearing the comic book WW Gold costume which has wings as well. And after seeing this we literally cannot keep calm because that’s the ICONIC constume which has its perks.
The much awaited trailer was worth the wait and it is perfectly blended with right kind of everything. Wonder Woman 1984 is releasing on 5 June 2020 and this film is something to look forward for.
