In Hollywood it is quite common to go for midnight release of much anticipated movies. Last night ‘The Amazing Spider-Man opened in the US with midnight release. Producer director Rohit Shetty has decided to introduce this trend in India. He has decided to release his new film ‘Bol Bachchan’ in Gujarat at midnight for the convenience of the women observing the auspicious Jayaparvati fast. This year, the Jayaparvati fast for the well-being of one`s family started July 1 and will end Friday.
According to belief, on the fifth day of the fast, women stay awake all night and break the fast the next morning. For their entertainment, Shetty has decided to schedule two shows of ‘Bol Bachchan’ – 12 a.m. to 3 a.m. and 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. – much before the release of the movie anywhere else in India.
“This is the first time that a movie is releasing early, especially for this occasion and it is an innovative way to celebrate it with a laugh riot `Bol Bachchan`,” said a source from the production.
Loosely based on 1979 film ‘Golmaal’, ‘Bol Bachchan’ features Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Asin Thottumkal and Prachi Desai.
