With the announcement of the list of 2019’s National Awards, Filmi Files brings to you the hot and freshly brewed list of Bollywood names that made the cut. It comes as no surprise that Andhadhun, Uri, Padmaavat and Badhai Ho have bagged multiple awards this year!
1. URI: THE SURGICAL STRIKE
The growth of nationalism and patriotism did most of this movie’s marketing. But the movie delivered star performance to the audience in terms of script, direction, and acting. The movie’s Director, Aditya Dhar, has bagged the Best Director award this year. While the Best Music Direction and Sound Design has also gone to URI.
Vicky Kaushal, the new heartthrob of Bollywood and the movie’s lead actor, is sharing his Best Actor Award with Ayushmann Khuranna from Andhadhun.
2. ANDHADHUN
This movie was, without a doubt, one of the best Murder Thrillers given to us by Bollywood. It has received awards for Best Hindi Film in the Regional Films Category. The movie has also received the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Ayushmann Khuranna, the movie’s lead actor, is sharing his Best Actor Award, with Vicky Kaushal from Andhadhun.
3. Padmaavat
There was a storm of offense and controversy on the release of this movie. It spent quite a while at the censorship offices. The nation, however, seems to have forgiven and forgotten the hue and cry, thanks to the amazing amalgamation of acting, music, and direction. Padmaavat has bagged three National Awards this year. It has been presented with the award for Best Choreography for Ghoomar, and Arijit Singh has won the world Best Male Playback Singer for Binti Dil. The award for Best Music Direction has been bagged by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and FilmiFiles approves!
4. Badhaai Ho
The movie, admittedly the wholesale fun package of 2019, has received two national awards this year. The award for Best Popular Film has been presented to Badhaai Ho, while Surekha Sikri has bagged the Best Supporting Actress award. The award for Best Actress has been given away from Bollywood, to Keerthy Suresh for Mahanti.
5. Padman
This was a very important social issue that Bollywood dealt with. The awareness about Sanitary Napkins, their use and the lifting of taboo from Periods is the need of the hour. The movie Padman received the award for Best Film on Social Issues this year.
