For all the diehard Tom Cruise fans Mission: Impossible Death Reckoning Part One, is yet another action-packed sequel you need to rush to, all set to take your breath away. A review by Dr Priyaankaa Mathur
The Hollywood Suspense thriller Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One stars Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, Esai Morales, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny.
The 61-year-old superstar Tom Cruise looks extremely stunning as agent Ethan Hunt, immortalising his character with his invincible attitude, intriguing intelligence, and nerve-wracking stunts, yet again astonishing his global audiences.
The global superstar has returned to the Mission Impossible Franchise to save the world from a powerful AI tech weapon called Entity, possessing the threat of global domination, if it reaches the wrong hands. The film boasts of an intriguing storyline with a strong message to utilise the power of AI wisely to save the world from destruction, taking the franchise to another level.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film not only moves around Hunt but also boasts of some very strong characters and performances by Grace (Hayley Atwell) who plays a Pickpocket and a Burglar, Gabriel (Esai Morales), who plays a dreaded terrorist, wishing to control the entity, Ethan’s team members Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) and Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg), both guiding him all through in his tough chase to find the golden key, which opens the domain to the entity.
Having climbed the Burj Khalifa, or Hanging from the Cargo Plane earlier in MI Ghost Protocol and MI Rough Mansion, this time Cruise keeps you at the edge of your seats in MI Death Reckoning. In one of the action sequences, he drives the Fiat 500 at super high speeds across the narrow busy lanes, tunnels and even tumbling down the staircases of Paris, handcuffed with Grace (Hayley Atwell), while many influential forces are chasing them.
While, the film has many original stunt sequences like the picturesque parachute dive, while Ethan jumps off the cliff with his motorbike, which makes you gasping for breath. There’s another captivating train sequence, which somehow has a striking resemblance to a scene from the Indian blockbuster Spy Thriller ‘Pathaan’, wherein the train is off a cliff, and Tiger (Salman Khan) and Pathaan (Shahrukh Khan), run across it to climb back to safety.
