6 Best Pregnancy Based Movies From Bollywood

For decades, the Hindi Film industry has been a watchdog reflecting the times and scenarios the nation has gone through. From becoming a side actor or playing a decorative object in movies, to become a warrior, and out-of-the-box character, women have contributed a bunch of gems to Indian Cinema. The up-gradation of Indian women from “Abla Naari” to a woman with ambition, goals, family manager, and a mother took a lot of hard work. And, who doesn’t know the relevance of a mother in a family and a nation? God’s gift to women that she can bring a life in this world is not and was never a weakness. A woman alone is enough to fight with the whole world and stand for her ideals. If she can love her child, she can also work day and night to give her children a good upbringing. Here are the 6 best movies, which expounds the struggle of a pregnant woman and the love and diligence she has for her child.

  1. MiMi:

This movie will be stream on Netflix and Jiocinema from 30 July. Kriti Sanon is back on the screen with “MiMi”, where she plays the role of a surrogate mother. Directed by Laxman Utekar with Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Jio Studios. Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Supriya Pathak, and Manoj Pahwa, are some other co-stars of the movie. After the trailer launch, Kriti Sanon was seen in the lead with Pankaj Tripathi being a surrogacy agent who introduces Kriti to a Foreigner couple looking for a surrogate. From the trailer, the movie seems to be a combination of comedy, emotion, and happiness package. This movie seems to be a remix of various surrogacy cases we have witnessed before.

  1. Badhaai Ho:

Indian Middle-class families are often jumbled with their own set of social systems and values. Along with it pregnancy and motherhood are celebrated like festivals, and talks on sex and romance are associated with embarrassment and awkwardness. The concept of “Badhaai Ho”, where a conventional Delhi couple Priyamvada Kaushik (Neena Gupta) and Jeetender Kaushik (Gajraj Rao), parents of two boys, gets pregnant out of the blue. Also, one of their sons was at his marriage age. With outsiders just spicing up the issue, the couple’s sons started feeling embarrassed at the outcome of their parent’s mid-age romance. This situational humour of “Badhaai Ho” has been perfectly executed by the excellent performance of Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, and Ayushmann Khurana. This movie puts a fantastic new spin on the usual. Society creates stereotypes where they can hardly consider a young couple’s romance, but here the mid-age romance of a couple steals the show.

  1. Good Newwz:

The urge to give birth to a child is still a dream for many women. Deepti (Kareena Kapoor Khan) and Varun Batra (Akshay Kumar) are a rich, high-flying married couple, living in Mumbai who is much focused on their respective careers. Deepti also wants a child and after trying for years they both decided to meet the best fertility experts in the city. The couple decided to go through the IVF method to get a child. Here is the hitch, when the couple is informed about a sperm mix-up with another couple with the same surname. Now, enters the laughter characters Honey Batra (Diljit Dosanjh) and Monika Batra (Kiara Advani). Both couples wanted a baby badly but Varun was upset with the fact that they will have Honey’s baby at their home. Meanwhile, this movie also reflected the pregnancy phase difficulties of a woman. It says that no matter you are rich or poor the experience of carrying a child in your womb is the same for each and every woman. The whole movie was a mix of comedy, arguments, an emotional roller coaster, and happiness. Varun had no interest in the baby which Deepti was conceiving and that’s when Deepti got pissed off. But, the moment Monika delivered her baby Varun was emotional and finally apologized for what he said earlier. And, in the end, they danced together in happiness.

  1. Kahaani:

Kahaani is a movie that lives up to its name more than you could ask for. The script of Kahaani was thoroughly filled with unexpected twists and emotions that are worth watching. The tragedy of the poison gas attack on the Kolkata Metro coaches resulted in the death of all the passengers on the train. Two years post the accident, Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan), a pregnant software engineer arrives in Kolkata from London to look for her missing husband, Arnab Bagchi. And, the movie goes around Vidya resolving the mystery of her lost husband. She goes through various paths being a pregnant woman. Overall Kahaani is a complete package, an excellent script, perfect screenplay, sensual suspense which keeps you glued to the screen. The entire team along with actors and the director Sujoy Ghosh has paid attention to each fine detail of the plot.

  1. Pari:

Anushka Sharma’s third film and probably her strongest work as a producer-actor. Pari could redefine the horror genre as it’s inspiritingly different, atmospheric, and moody. Unlike most mainstream horror films, there’s no jolting background score, adage jump scares, and over-dramatic conversation between characters or dramatic ‘possessed by evil spirit’ performances. Pari is an art-house, thriller which moves at its own pace, in its interesting way. It accumulates strands that are rare to find in commercial scary movies like eerie silence, haunting yet hush melancholic music, an captivating love story, and an air of delusions that grips you slowly and steadily. The movie ends with the birth of Anushka’s child and her death. Led by an excellent set of actors Anushka Sharma, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Rajat Kapoor suffuse substance to the story with their understated act and ensure it doesn’t fall flat even when the pace drops.

  1. Kya Kehna:

What happens when a college girl gets pregnant? What happens when she decides to keep the baby? Oops, “This is against Our Culture”. What happens when the lover evades his responsibility of marrying the would-be mother? Is the girl capable of facing the ruthless society alone? The movie “Kya Kehna” directed by Kundan Shah, starring Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan provides the answers to these questions. Priya (Preity Zinta) is an ambitious girl, who just graduated high school and now in her first year of college. In college, Priya meets Rahul (Saif Ali Khan) and falls for his charming personality. Rahul is a known womanizer and is always flirting with one girl after another. He started noticing Priya and is immediately attracted to her. Priya’s family warns her about Rahul’s reputation, but Priya refuses to listen. And then a tragedy strikes, them Boom her life completely flipped as she gets pregnant. From being a chirpy girl, Priya finds herself alone and helpless, facing the barbs of a stereotypical society. The only man who could have saved her (Rahul) also turns his back on her. And, after all odds, she decides to have the baby. It is one of those films where the characterisation of the protagonist, Priya, is shown powerful, not meek and helpless. To sum up, this movie is a great attempt to tackle these stereotypes of single mothers in society.

  1. Yes all movies are ready very good and played a new message to our society, if u hadn’t watched them go for it watch them they really really so good.
Badhai ho is my personal favourite. It point out not only new meaning of pregnancy but also that it’s not age bounded factory and nor love too.
Anyshman khurrana and neera gupta are too good it the movie. They pore their emotions into it.
It is a typical Bollywood story with a happy ending 😂
If you are looking for a comedy movie then go for good news. Dilijit dosanjh is really very funny in this movie and the comedy king of akshay Kumar its name is enough i think. This movie is all about new technology which is still unknown to many people’s of our country. so it is comedy movie but also with lots if information.
And if you are looking for a horror movie Parii if perfect match for you I don’t wanna give you spoiler by saying much about the movie. It is available on Amazon prime just go and watch it you will definitely enjoy it.

Last the mimi is not yet realeased but the trailer is saying itself everything. This is definitely going to be a hit movie. It is also based on a new concept that is surrogacy. This is really a good movie with good story + knowledge and some tint of Comedy, I can’t wait anymore for the release of the movie.
I seriously don’t know much about kya kehne but remember some scenes for the movie.
