The exclusive unveiling of Ramayana: The Introduction — the first official glimpse into the world of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana happened with a grand cinematic 3D presentation of the film in Mumbai. Present on the occasion were Namit Malhotra, Founder of Prime Focus Laboratories and Director Nitesh Tiwari.
After much anticipation about the casting, the music compositions and VFX, the makers unveiled the teaser of “Ramayana”. The teaser brought a feeling of awe and goosebumps to the audiences, with Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Yash as Ravana who are seen combating in the sneak peek. The teaser indeed rose the audience’s anticipation about the 3D, VFX version of our greatest epic for the Gen Next worldwide, which is indeed a great initiative. The teaser was launched with the Tagline “Our Truth, Our History”
The film promises to be a complete entertainment with a huge star cast playing pivotal roles, including Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Yash as Ravana, and Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara. The film boasts of AR Rehman’s enchanting music along with Hans Zimmer.
Addressing the occasion, Namit Malhotra shared his journey of a decade from founding Prime Focus to making Ramayana, said, ” It took ten years of aspiration and relentless conviction to bring the Greatest Epic of all time to the World. Ramayana is the story of our culture, history, which we heard while growing up, learning the values of humanity. All of us should feel tremendous joy and great pride that we are bringing our great epic ‘Ramayana’ yet again in the grandest form and manner possible.”
He added,” My journey could not be completed in bring the World of Ramayana into form without the vision and storytelling of the Director Nitesh Tiwari, who stood by my side.What we are presenting is where the Ramayana comes from, which will be followed by the trailer and the teaser presented to you joyously at the right time.I’m sure we all are going to enjoy the first look and celebrate ‘Ramayana’ once again.”
Director Nitesh Tyagi shared his childhood connection with Ramayana said,” When I was a child, my grandparents would recite ‘Ramayana’ to me and I found it very fascinating even as a young child.Then I watched Ramayan in diffrent formats, Theatres, Ramleelas, I was in so much awe with its story and characters .Today, I genuinely feel that the Ramayana chose me, and I wish people feel the same excitement and love that I felt in my childhood days.
Talking about his collaboration with Namit Tiwari, added, “What can I say for Namit, as he brings in with him infectious energy, infinite passion and belief, because he believes that ‘ The Ramayana’ deserves nothing but the best, to be told to the world.I feel like pinching my self for the fact that I’m working with such a star cast and technicians who are masters of their crafts and so accomplished.”
Talking about their collaboration, Namit Shared,” It has been a very, very long dream to put our heart, soul and life into making Ramayana and do justice to the Epic. Our biggest pride is how do we take our greatest culture and part of our history and share it in the world.I want all of the Indians to stand together proudly to share it with the world. Tiwari adds on what the audience would. experience, while watching Ramayana, said,”I think the most important aspect is that the emotional connection and the pride to watch Ramayana, which represents India’s great cultural heritage and history. If we can evoke that and tell the entire world that this is what we stand for, that will be our achievement, for which I am very hopeful.”
