Wow. It has been 18 years since Dil chahta hai released. Preity Zinta shared a post on Instagram, reminding the fans about it and also mentioned that it is her favourite movie.
Released on the year 2001, this movie changed the face of Indian cinema. The film is considered path breaking for its time and the refreshingly honest writing paved the way for a future generation of filmmakers; clearly inspired by this cult classic.
This movie beautifully showcases a journey of 3 friends played by Amir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna.
The movie won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi in the year 2001. Since its release, the movie has become a contemporary classic.
It takes down the audience on a path of friendship, drama, romance, heartbreaks, family issues of 3 friends. This movie also stars Dimple Kapadia as Akshayee Khanna’s older love interest, Sonali Kulkarni as Saif Ali Khan’s and Preity Zinta in the lead roles.
Farhan Akhtar debuted as a director with Dil Chahta Hai, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy gave music which undoubtedly is one of the best albums of Bollywood. This movie relates with every young person’s life, their hardships, careless attitudes.
The movie is beautifully shot and is narrated by Amir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta.
It shows how 3 carefree college students after facing the real problems of life became responsible and mature adults.
If you ask the adults between the age of 24-30 about Dil Chahta Hai, you’ll definitely hear them praising it or accepting it as one of their favourite movies.
The director of the movie, Farhan Akhtar said that a lot of things are going on his mind when asked about the sequel of Dil Chahta Hai in 2016 but according to me this movie is a classic and should remain the way it is.
