The trailer of eagerly awaited ‘A Gentleman’ has been released this afternoon. The film has Siddharth Malhotra and Jacquline Fernandes in the lead. The trailer showcases two male charters played by Siddharth. His character Gaurav is of a sweet and charming man who loves to cook, clean up his house like a typical Delhi Punjabi boy.
On the other hand, he is seen as bad mouthing action loving Rishi. He mouths lines like ‘Jhand Hai Meri Life Behanchod’ which gives his character earthy shades
Playing female lead actor Jacqueline Fernandez portrays Kavya which is a character of an over-enthusiastic adventurer with good looks. In the trailer she is seen with Gaurav who according to her is ‘Thoda Jade Hi Safe’. The trailer gives an impression that it is a tussle between liking a ‘Sundar Susheel’ or a ‘Risky’ guy. The film will definitely reveal the suspense. Till then you can enjoy the trailer.

The ‘tiger’ has finally roared…yes, the most well behaved and calm star in the industry has said something which has taken everyone by surprise. Tiger Shroff, who is these days shooting for Munna Michael gave an interview to ‘Mumbai Mirror’ and when asked about his take on his would be leading ladies in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 (SOTY2), Tiger said “I don’t get involved with the casting at all. I don’t really care about the padding around me. It’s the script and my character that matter.”
Well people, the ‘padding’ here refers to his female co-stars and the two names which are reportedly being considered are Jhanvi Kapoor and Ananya Pandey. Shroff Jr, who usually does not get involved in much controversies have landed himself in quite a backlash on social media by being called “self- absorbed”, “sexist”. In a way, Tiger must not forget he is also has done 3 films only. Is the feeling of being a ‘senior actor’ made him pass these comments?

Do dreams come true?
Yes, they surely do and the latest example of this is the lucky girl from Delhi, Anya Singh who is set to be launched under India’s biggest film banner – Yash Raj Films against Aadar Jain who is Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin and has a filmi lineage to its credit. The duo would be launched today by Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in an event today and would work in a movie directed by Habib Faisal.
And the surprises don’t end here… Anya Singh has not only 1 Yash Raj film in her kitty, but has infact signed a three-film contract with them. Very little information is available about her personal life and the only fact known is that she is from Delhi and pursuing graduation at Delhi University. The industry has welcomed the her with open hearts and she is all over the social media platforms.
We wish Anya all the best and she is certainly like ‘a breath of fresh air and loveliness’ as tweeted by Karan Johar. Yashraj Films also released a video introducing Anya Singh
Before its release on 21st July, Lipstick under my Burkha released its 2nd trailer last week which is already creating waves. The second trailer has already crossed five million views. People are getting curious and intrigued to see the ‘most controversial film’ of the year which deals into the secret lives of four women who are being told to supress their sexuality, an ageing widow who comes on terms with her own sexuality at a later stage of life, a homemaker with kids who longs for employment, a small-town girl who is forced into a wedlock which she does not approve and a young girl college who aspires to be a pop sensation.
Starring seasoned actors like Ratna Pathak Shah, Konkana Sen Sharma and newcomers like Aahna Kumra and Plabita Borthakur, the film already hit a massive roadblock a few months ago when the CBFC refused to certify the film due to its bold subject, ‘lady oriented content, abusive language and audio pornography. But now that it has got the clearance, everyone is waiting with bated breath for this movie which is under the Prakash Jha banner and directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and which has strong feminist connotations.

The Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) has directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to grant an ‘A certificate to “Lipstick Under My Burkha”, which was denied a certificate for its sexual content earlier this year.
The FCAT has directed that the film be granted certification after “voluntary and some additional cuts and deletions”.
“Lipstick Under My Burkha” was deemed too “lady oriented” in content and according to the censor board, it is laced with sexual scenes and abusive words.
The film, starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Ratna Pathak Shah, chronicles the secret lives of four women of different ages in a small town in India as they search for different kinds of freedom.
The makers in their appeal had asserted that the theme of the film is about “women claiming their rights over their body, their ideas, decisions, aspirations and fulfilment of their dreams”. They said that the film is “about emancipation and assertion of women rights, culminating in their liberation and empowerment”.
The FCAT observed that CBFC “misdirected themselves in denying certification on the ground that the story of the film is women oriented. There cannot be any embargo on a film being women oriented or containing sexual fantasies and expression of the inner desires of women”.
The press note, issued by the FCAT, read: “As a matter of general approach if the aspect of sexual desires and their expression is sensitively handled without bringing coarseness, vulgarity or obscenity, pandering prurient tendencies, then it is not to be disallowed.”
The FCAT also directed some voluntary cuts or reduction in the length of the sex scenes. In addition to the above, some cuts, which the FCAT felt were necessary particularly in the length of the scenes were so directed.
The statement read: “We cannot lose sight that there is a thin line between creative and artistic expression being depicted in a natural sex scene. The same can be obliterated if the sexual scenes are continued for a long duration which may not be necessary or integral to the film. Besides, it would then infringe the guidelines requiring such scenes to be kept to the minimum.”
